Functional medicine is built on the Six Pillars of Health:

  1. Nutrition: The foundation of wellness, focusing on whole, nutrient-dense foods that fuel your body.

  2. Movement: Regular physical activity to support strength, flexibility, and cardiovascular health.

  3. Sleep: Prioritizing quality rest to allow your body to repair and recharge.

  4. Stress Management: Techniques to reduce the impact of chronic stress on your body and mind.

  5. Toxin Reduction: Identifying and minimizing harmful environmental exposures.

  6. Community and Connection: Fostering relationships that enhance emotional and mental well-being.

By focusing on these six key areas, functional medicine creates a holistic, personalized approach to addressing common health concerns such as fatigue, hormonal imbalances, brain fog, chronic pain or inflammation, autoimmune conditions, digestive issues and more.    This is especially valuable for individuals looking to go beyond traditional symptom management to achieve long-term wellness solutions.

Led by Kimberly Correa, FNP, a board-certified nurse practitioner with over 20 years of healthcare experience, our functional medicine services integrate scientifically proven methods with a compassionate, personalized approach.   Based in Sunbury, Ohio, our wellness center provides cutting-edge solutions in a welcoming, professional environment.

What to Expect During your Consult:

  • In-depth Consultation:   We start by listening.   Your initial visit includes a detailed discussion about your health history, lifestyle, and current concerns.   Your consultation will be with a board-certified nurse practitioner.

  • Advanced Testing:  Using comprehensive lab work, we assess such areas as nutrition, gut health, hormones and inflammation.   Testing could include blood work, food sensitivity testing, GI-Maps, adrenal and cortisol testing and more.  This helps us understand what is happening below the surface.

  • Personalized Treatment Plan:  Based on your results, we create a customized wellness plan that addresses the root cause of your symptoms.   This may include dietary changes supplements, stress management and more.

  • Ongoing Support:  Healing takes time and we're here for you every step.   You'll receive expert guidance, follow-up visits and adjustments to your plan as needed.

How is functional medicine different from conventional medicine?

  • Functional medicine focuses on the root cause of your health concerns, not just managing symptoms.   It uses advanced testing and a personalized approach to improve your overall wellness.   Unlike traditional medicine, functional medicine treats your body as a whole, helping you achieve long-lasting results.

Do you accept insurance for functional medicine?

  • Insurance doesn't typically cover the full cost of functional medicine because it focuses on advanced testing, personalized care and preventative wellness, which fall outside standard insurance reimbursement.   However, some standard lab tests or prescriptions may be eligible for partial coverage.  We are happy to provide detailed receipts to submit to insurance for possible reimbursement.   We also offer flexible payment plans through Cherry to make care more accessible.

How long does it take to see results?

  • Some people feel better in just a few weeks, while others see gradual improvements over months.   We'll guide you every step of the way.
